Silent Gamers Quake II Classic Cup - COMPLETE! - Posted by ButtaKnife on June 28, 2010

After a frag frenzy this past weekend, the Silent Gamers Quake II Classic Cup has finally come to an end!

naymlis arose as the undefeated champion of a 32-man bracket in the grand finals tonight, and adrenal1ne managed to steal 2nd place after a vicious battle with f0cus yesterday. Jehar and RottenRose of TastyCast provided some amazing video coverage, along with gnnr co-casting several matches (complete with RoboCop voice), and we wholeheartedly recommend that you head over to their site to watch the archived footage!

There were ragequits, trash-talking challenges, mid-air frags, shutouts, suicides, and enough flying body parts to keep a zombie happy for months. It was unbelievable to see so much love for a game that's nearly 13 years old. We were honored to have the opportunity to sponsor prizes for 1st and 2nd place, and we hope to see many more Quake II tournaments happen as a result. This tournament made it absolutely clear that there's still plenty of interest in the game.

An effort of this magnitude wouldn't have been possible without the loyal support of many people. We extend our congratulations to the winners, and also our heartfelt thanks to everyone else who participated and made this event possible!
